Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 1, 2026 | Last Updated: March 4, 2026
The short version: Solace Manufacturing uses a single-tenant deployment model. Your inspection data, SPC measurements, supplier information, and quality metrics reside on your own infrastructure. We do not commingle your data with other customers.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Detailed In Design, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), an Illinois limited liability company, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Solace Manufacturing platform and related website (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Our Core Privacy Principle
Solace Manufacturing is deployed as a single-tenant instance on your infrastructure. Your inspection data, SPC measurements, supplier scorecards, and compliance records stay on your servers. We do not have standing access to your production data.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you subscribe or create an account on our portal, we collect your name, email address, company name, job title, and payment information.
- Support Communications: If you contact us for technical support, we collect the information you provide in your correspondence, which may include screenshots or log files you voluntarily share.
- Implementation Details: During onboarding, we may collect information about your infrastructure environment to assist with deployment.
3.2 Manufacturing Data (Stored on Your Infrastructure)
The following data types are stored and processed on your own infrastructure and are not accessible to us unless you explicitly grant temporary support access:
- Inspection records, measurements, and pass/fail determinations
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) data, control charts, and Cpk/Ppk calculations
- Supplier information, scorecards, and performance metrics
- Quality metrics, nonconformance reports, and corrective actions
- Compliance audit records and certification documentation
- Part numbers, lot/batch tracking, and traceability data
- Trade secrets, proprietary process parameters, and manufacturing specifications
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Website Analytics: When you visit our website, we may collect standard web analytics data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) through cookies or similar technologies.
- License Telemetry: We collect license validation data including subscription status and active user count. This does not include any manufacturing or quality data.
- Error Reports: With your consent, the application may send anonymized error reports to help us improve stability. These reports contain only technical stack traces and never include manufacturing data.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To process transactions and send related billing information
- To respond to your support requests and provide technical assistance
- To notify you of product updates, security patches, and compliance-relevant changes
- To monitor license compliance and prevent unauthorized use
- To comply with legal obligations
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist with payment processing, email delivery, or website hosting, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
- Consent: With your explicit consent for any purpose not described herein.
6. Protection of Trade Secrets and Manufacturing Data
We understand that manufacturing process data, supplier relationships, and quality metrics may constitute trade secrets or competitively sensitive information. Our single-tenant architecture ensures this data never leaves your controlled environment. We contractually commit to treating any data we are exposed to during support engagements as confidential.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your account information. Because Solace Manufacturing is deployed on your infrastructure, the security of your manufacturing and quality data is governed by your own IT security policies, access controls, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
We recommend maintaining:
- Role-based access controls within the application
- Encryption at rest and in transit for your database
- Regular backups following your organization's disaster recovery plan
- Audit logging enabled for compliance traceability
8. Data Retention
We retain your account and billing information for as long as your subscription is active or as needed to provide services. We retain billing records as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
Manufacturing data stored on your infrastructure is subject to your own retention policies. Many quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) require specific record retention periods -- you are responsible for configuring retention settings in accordance with your applicable standards.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information held by us
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Request portability of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@detailedindesign.com.
10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and functionality. The Solace Manufacturing application itself does not use third-party tracking cookies. You may configure your browser to reject cookies, though some website features may not function properly.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your account information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Manufacturing data remains on your infrastructure in whatever jurisdiction you choose to deploy. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of account data in the United States.
13. Changes to This Policy
