01 / Quoting a one-off part before the next event
Step 1 · Where it starts
A customer sends a print, a material and a date they need it by. They get an acknowledgement with a real quote number on it, not a promise that someone will call.
Step 2 · What gets automated
The request is read for material, quantity, tolerance callouts and finish, and matched against similar jobs you have run so the estimator starts from a real number instead of a blank line.
Step 3 · The process it plugs into
Every quote carries the machine time it assumed. When the same customer asks for the same part next season, the history is right there instead of being re-estimated from scratch.
Step 4 · SolaceSentry review
The estimator prices it. The system never sends a number on its own — it gets the paperwork out of the way so a person can think about the number.
Step 5 · What leaves the system
A quote out the same day it landed, with the assumptions written down so the argument about the invoice never happens.
Proof metric: Hours from print received to quote sent, and how many quotes you win against how many you used to be too slow to bid.
